Home Remedy for Acne, Pimples

1.
Jaiphal: Grind Nutmeg (Jaiphal) with unboiled milk and apply on affected area
2.
Cinnamon: Make a paste by mixing honey & cinnamon powder. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it next morning with luke warm water Repeat it for two week.
3.
Orange: Make orange peel paste by grinding it in some water. Apply on and around pimples.
4.
Fenugreek: Apply a paste of fresh methi (Fenugreek) leaves over the face every night for 10-15minutes & washed with warm water. This will prevent pimples, blackheads & wrinkles.
5.
Lime: Mix lime juice & rose water in equal portions. apply on affected area. Wash it off after 20-30 minutes with luke warm water.

Home Remedy for Joint pains
1.
Massage of the affected joint with warm mustard oil.

Grind equal parts of dried ginger, back pepper and pinch of black salt take a teaspoonful of this mixture with luke warm water.

Home Remedy for Constipation
1.
Munakka: For ordinary constipation, take 10-12 piece of Munakka wash and remove the seeds and then boil them with a glass of milk. Once the milk is boiled, eat the raisins and drink the milk.

A natural and simple diet is a significant factor in preventing constipation eats plenty of green vegetables, whole grain, cereals, bran, fresh and dry fruits, and milk. One should carefully avoid faulty diets, intake of Junck food lacking minerals & vitamins overeating. If you are prone to habitual constipation, taking warm water frequently during the time will help you.

Triphala: Mix the three myrobalans (Triphala) Indian gooseberry, chebulic myrobalan and beleric myrobalan) in equal ratio and grind them in a mixer. Consuming powder 3-4gm with a glass of warm water twice or thrice a day.

Drink 1-2 glass of luke warm water before going to toilet.
5.
Drink water from a copper vessel and leave it overnight. Drinking this water in the morning helps regulating the bowel movement.

Senna: Mix one part of Indian senna, 2 parts of chebulic myrobalan and one part of Indian gooseberry make fine powder taking a teaspoonful of this powder is effective in chronic constipation.

Home Remedy for Abdomen pain or stomach pain
1.
Betel: For immediate relief, chew betel leaves with a few rock salt crystals.

Ajwain: Take ITSP of mixture of caron seeds (ajwain), a pinch of black salt & a few drop of fresh lemon juice with luke warm water.
3.
Coriander: For upset stomach take 1 teaspoon coriander or caraway seeds with 1 cup of Hot water.
4.
Hing: Abdomen pain due to gas mix some of asafetida (Hing) with little water to make a paste of it. Lie down and fill up your belly button. Remain in that position for 15-20 minutes and you will release some gas, giving you relief.

Home Remedy for common cold
1.
Lemon is the most important among the many home remedies for common cold it is beneficial all types of cold with fever. One lemon juice should be diluted in a glass of warm water, and a teaspoon of honey should be added to it. This should be taken once or twice daily.
2.
Garlic soup is an old remedy to reduce the severity of a cold and should take once daily. The soup can be prepared by boiling three or four cloves of chopped garlic in a cup of water.
3.
Ginger is excellent remedy for cold & cough. About 5-6 gm of ginger should be cut into small piece and boiled in a cup of water. It should then be strained and half a teaspoon of sugar added to it this decoction should be drunk when hot.

Black Pepper: Grind 4-6 seeds of black pepper. Add this powder together with a pinch of turmeric to a cup of milk and boil it for 2 minutes. Drink this liquid at bed time helps you sleep better by preventing a stuffy nose and nocturnal dry cough caused by common cold.

Cinnamon: Coarsly powder the cinnamon bark. Boil about 20 gm in a glass of water, adding a pinch of black pepper powder and a teaspoonful of honey. Strain the decoction and drink it when hot.

Home Remedy for cough
1.
Grapes: Grapes are one of the most effective home remedies for the treatment of a cough. Grapes tone up the lungs and act as expectorant, relieving cough.
2.
Almonds: almonds are useful for dry cough. Seven kernels should be soaked in water overnight and the brown skin removed. They should then be grind well to form a fine paste. A quantity of 10 gm each of butter and sugar should then be added to the paste. The paste should be taken in the morning & evening.
3.
Onion: The use of raw onion is valuable in a cough. This vegetable should be chopped fine and the juice extracted from it. One teaspoon of the juice should then be mixed with one teaspoon of honey and kept for four to five hours. It will make an excellent cough syrup and should be taken twice daily
4.
Turmeric: Turmeric should be roasted and powdered. This powder should be taken in two to three grams doses twice daily in the morning & evening.
5.
Belleric Myroblan: The herb belleric myroblan is a house hold remedy for cough. A mixture compressing two grams of the pulp of the fruit, ¼ teaspoon of salt, ½ teaspoon of long pepper and 2 teaspoon of honey should be administered for the treatment of cough twice daily.
6.
Aniseed: Aniseed is an effective remedy for a hard dry cough with difficult expectoration. It breaks up mucus.
7.
Dried Ginger: Take about 10 Gms of each of long pepper, dried ginger holy basil leaves. Add 4-6 small cardamoms and grind to yield a fine powder. Consuming this powder with equal amount of honey relieves cough.

Home Remedy for Asthma
1.
Honey: one to two teaspoonfuls of honey provide relief. Honey can also be taken in a cup of milk or water. Honey thins out accumulated mucus and helps its elimination form the respiratory passages.
2.
Figs: Among fruits, fig has proved very valuable in Asthma. They give comfort to the patient by draining off the phlegm. Three or four dry figs should be cleaned thoroughly with warm water and soaked overnight. They should be taken first thing in the morning, along with water in which they were soaked.
3.
Lemon: The Juice of one lemon, diluted in a glass of water and taken with meals, will bring good results.
4.
Indian Gooseberry (Amla): Indian gooseberry has also proved valuable in asthma. Five grams of gooseberry mixed with one table spoon of honey forms an effective tonic for the asthma. It should be taken every morning.
5.
Ginger: A teaspoon of fresh ginger Juice, mixed with a cup of Fenugreek decoction and honey to taste, acts as an excellent expectorant in case of Asthma.
6.
Mustard Oil: During the attack mustard oil, mixed with a little camphor, should be massaged over the back of the chest. This will loosen up Phlegm and ease breathing.

Home Remedy for sore throat

Mango bark: Mango bark is efficacious in the treatment of a sore throat and other throat disorders. Its fluid which is extracted by grinding. Can be applied locally with beneficial results. It can be also be used as a throat gargle.
2.
Belleric Myroblan: The herb belleric myroblan is valuable in sore throat. A mixture of two grams of the pulp of the fruit, a quarter teaspoon of salt, half a teaspoon of powdered long pepper and two teaspoons of honey should be administered in the treatment of sore throat.
3.
Bishop’s weed: Bishop Weed is valuable in treating a sore throat. An infusion of the seeds mixed with common salt can be used beneficially as a gargle in an acute condition caused by a cold.
4.
Fenugreek seeds: A gargle prepared from fenugreek seeds has been found to be a very effective remedy for treating a sore throat. To prepare this gargle, two table spoons of fenugreek seeds should be put in a liter of cold water and allowed to simmer for half an hour over a low flame. This should then be allowed to cool to a bearable temperature, strained and then used entirely as a gargle.

Liquorices: It is a recognized Home Remedy for sore throat in all parts of India. A small piece of raw liquorices should be chewed or sucked for treating this condition.
6.
Holy Basil: The leaves of holy basil have also been found beneficial in the treatment of this condition. Water boiled with basil leaves should be taken as a drink, and also used as a gargle to relieve a sore throat.

Home Remedy for Diarrhea

Buttermilk: Butter milk is one of the most effective home remedies in the treatment of diarrhea. Butter milk is the residual milk left after the fat has been removed from curd by churning. It helps overcome harmful intestinal flora.
2.
Fenugreek: Fenugreek leaves are useful in diarrhea. One teaspoon of seeds which have been boiled and fried in butter should be taken with a cup of butter milk twice daily.
3.
Ginger: In case of diarrhea caused by indigestion dry or fresh ginger is very useful. A piece of dry ginger should be powdered along with a crystal of rock salt, & quarter of a teaspoon of this powder should be taken with a small piece of jaggery. It will bring quick relief as ginger. Being carminative aids digestion by stimulating the gastrointestinal tract.
4.
Mint: Mint juice is also beneficial in the treatment of diarrhea. One teaspoon of fresh mint Juice, mixed with a teaspoon each of lime Juice and honey, can be given thrice daily with excellent result in the treatment of this disease.
5.
Pomegranate: The pomegranate has proved beneficial in the treatment of diarrhea on account of its astringent properties. If the patient develops weakness due profuse and continuous purging, he should repeatedly be given about 50ml of pomegranate juice to drink. This will control the diarrhea.
6.
Rice: Rice is useful in treating diarrhea in children. A teaspoon of powder of charred parboiled rice, mixed with a glass of buttermilk, should be given in doses of thirty gram every half an hour.

Home Remedy for Headache

Lemon: The Juice of three or four slices of lemon should be squeezed in a cup of tea and taken by the patient for treating this condition. It gives immediate relief.
2.
Apple: Apples are valuable in curing all types of headache after removing the upper rind and inner hard portion a ripe apple; it should be taken with a little salt every morning on an empty stomach in such cases. This should be continued for about a week.
3.
Henna: The flowers of henna have been found valuable in curing headache caused by hot sun. The flowers should be rubbed in vinegar and applied over the forehead. This remedy will soon provide relief.
4.
Cinnamon: Cinnamon is useful in headache caused by exposure to cold air. A fine paste of this spice should be prepared by mixing it with water and it should be applied over the temples and forehead to obtain relief.
5.
Rosemary: The herb rosemary has been found valuable in headaches resulting form cold. A handful of this herb should be boiled in a liter of water and put in a mug. The head should be covered with a towel and the steam inhaled for as long as the patient can bear. This should be repeated till the headache is relieved.
 
Home Remedy for Migraine

Grapes: Migraine relief can be obtained from the juice of ripe grapes and is an effective Home Remedy.
2.
Cabbage: A few leaves of the cabbage should be crushed and then placed in a cloth and bound on the forehead at bedtime, or when convenient during the day. The compress should be renewed when the leaves dry out.
3.
Lemon: The Crusts of lemon have also been found beneficial in the treatment of migraine; the crusts should be included in to a fine paste in a mortar. The paste should be applied, it plaster on the forehead. It will provide great relief.

Vegetable Juices: Carrot Juice in combination with spinach like, beet and cucumber juices has been found beneficial in the treatment of migraine. In the first combination, 200ml of spinach juice may be mixed with 300ml of carrot juice to prepare 500ml or half a liter of the combined juices. In the second combination, 100ml each of beet & cucumber. Juices may be mixed with 300ml of carrot Juice.

Mango: The liberal use of mangoes during the seasons is considered on effective remedy for prevention & treatment of sinusitis.

Garlic & Onion: The use of pungent foods like garlic & onion is one of the most effective remedies for sinus problems. One should begins with small mild doses and increase them gradually.
3.
Fenugreek: The seeds of fenugreek are effective remedy for sinusitis. A tea prepared by boiling one teaspoon of seeds in 250 ml of water till it reduce half, will help the body to produce perspiration, dispel toxicity and shorter the period fever in the acute stage of the disease.
4.
Cumin seeds: A teaspoon of black cumin seeds tied in a thin cotton cloth can provide relief when inhaled.
5.
Vitamins A & C: Diet rich in vitamin A is the best insurance against cold & sinus trouble. Vitamin A is the membrane conditioner and it help build healthy mucous membrane in the nose and throat. Some of the valuable sources of this Vitamin are milk, curds, egg yolk, pumpkin, carrots, leafy vegetables, tomatoes, mangoes and papaya. Vitamin C has also proved beneficial in the treatment of sinusitis and the patient should take one gram of this Vitamin per day in two therapeutic doses of 500mg each.

Castor Oil: It is found that five drops of castor oil in half cup of any fruit or vegetable juice, or plain water, and taken on an empty stomach in the morning is beneficial for allergies of intestinal. Tract, skin and nasal passage.

Lime: Lime is considered an effective remedy for any kind of allergy. Half a lime may be squeezed in a glass of lukewarm water & sweated with a teaspoon of honey. It can be taken once daily first thing in the morning for several months. However, those who are allergic to citrus fruits should not take recourses to this remedy.

Bitter Luffa: The juice of bitter luffa is regarded as an effective remedy for Jaundice. It is obtained by pounding & squeezing the bitter luffa through clothes. This Juice drawn up through the nostril. This will cause a profuse outflow of a yellow colored fluid through the nostrils. The toxic matter having been evacuated in a considerable quantity, the patient will feel relieved.

Tomato: Tomatoes are valuable in jaundice. A glass of fresh tomato juice, mixed with a pinch of salt and pepper, taken early in the morning is considered an effective remedy for the disease.

Snake Gourd leaves: The leaves of snake gourd have also been found useful in jaundice. An infusion of the leaves should be prepared by mixing 15gm of dry leaves in 250ml of boiling water. Next a decoction of coriander seeds in 500 ml of water till it is reduced by one third. The infusion should be given in doses of 30 to 60 ml. mixed with the decoction of coriander seeds, thrice daily.

Sugar Cane Juice: One glass of sugar cane juice, mixed with juice of half lime, and taken twice daily, can hastens recovery from jaundice.

Home Remedy for Diabetes

Bitter Gaurd: Among the several home remedies that have proved beneficial in controlling diabetes, perhaps the most important is the use of bitter gaurd. Bitter gourd contains a hypoglycemic or insulin likes principle, designated as plant insulin which has been found valuable in lowering the blood and urine sugar levels. It should, therefore be included, liberally in the diet of diabetic for better result; the diabetic should take the juice of about four or five karelas every morning on an empty stomach.

Indian Gooseberry: Indian Gooseberry, with its high Vitamin C content, is considered valuable in diabetes. A tablespoon of its juice, mixed with a cup of bitter gourd juice taken daily for two months, will stimulate the islets of langerhans, that is, the isolated group of cells that secrete the hormone insulin in the pancreas. This mixture reduces the blood sugar in diabetes.

Jambul Fruits (Jamun fruits): Jambul fruits another effective remedy. It is regarded in traditional medicine as a specific against diabetes because of its effect on the Pancreas. The fruit as such, the seeds, and fruit juice are all useful in the treatment of this disease.

Fenugreek: The seeds of fenugreek have been found effective in the treatment of diabetes. Fenugreek seeds diminish reactive hyperglycemia in diabetic patients. Level of glucose, serum cholesterol, and triglycerides were also significantly reduced in the patients.

Parslane: The seeds of parslane are useful in diabetes. A Teaspoon of the seeds should be taken everyday with half a cup of water for three to four months. It will increase the body’s own insulin and help in curing diabetes.
